Camping is e special experiences of childhood: it builds self-confidence, encourages independence, and invites children to become little leaders. From pitching a tent to solving small problems and making new friends, camping nurtures resilience, teamwork, and a spirit of adventure — essential tools for growing up confident and self-aware.
We’re excited to invite Villagio community families to a special family camping weekend this September, hosted at a beautiful agriturismo in the heart of Salento. It will be a relaxed, informal gathering of families with children — a chance to spend time outdoors, unplug, and connect with like-minded parents.

We’ll share the exact location and direct booking link during the first week of September. Each family will book and pay for their own stay directly with the campsite.
Here’s what you need to know:
✨ The campsite is part of an authentic family-run Salento agriturismo, surrounded by olive groves and Mediterranean scrub, just 5km minutes from the sea and close to the historic center of Otranto. It’s a peaceful, nature-filled setting — perfect for kids to explore freely and for parents to enjoy a true moment of pause.
🚿 Available Amenities:
- Shaded pitches with grassy or gravel ground
- Hot showers and clean restrooms
- Shared refrigerator, dishwashing sinks, and laundry areas
- Drinking water fountains throughout the campsite
- Wi-Fi in common areas
- Bar and café with snacks and local products
- Small play area for little ones
- Ping pong table
- Large central lawn for free play and shared moments

- 5 minutes by car from the coast and beautiful natural beaches
- 10 minutes to Otranto and the Alimini Lakes
- Surrounded by paths for walking and biking
🎒 Importante:
- It’s a fully self-organized event — each family brings their own camping gear, food, water, and everything they need.
- The approximate cost of a pitch is €12 per adult and €6 per child over 3.
- The campground does not allow open fire on the forest floor. Only portable stove or bbq’s are allowed.
- There are no organized activities — everything will be spontaneous: free play, shared meals, outdoor breakfasts, and starry skies.

This meetup is organized by Museo dei Bambini Lecce as part of Village — a community of intentional parents who think differently. Our children play with earth instead of screens, value skills over things, and solve problems rather than memorize answers.
